All That Glitters ...

As promised here are my three ATCS for the second themed challenge at UKATC for January which was glitter.

Top left - for this card I sprayed Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Walnut Gold then used Crafty Individuals' crackle stamp and Distress Ink in Vintage Photo to create the background.  The CI key is stamped in DI Black Soot.

Top right was stamped with CI clock stamp and DI Black Soot before using a stencil and silver texture paste.

For the background for the bottom card I used a stencil and Imaginations Sparkle Medium in Diamond.  The image is from CI Miniatures, People and Places 1, with a frame of silver texture
paste.

You could probably tell I was in a bit of a hurry when I scanned all the cards for this month, hence the black line.  I'll try and remember to use a piece of white paper over the back next time.

Birds on a Wire? No ATCS

This was one of the themes for the January ATC swap over at UKATC.  The other theme was glitter and I'll share my cards for that one in a few days.  I find these little cards a fun challenge and they're a great way to use up small pieces of card.  If you'd like to join in click the link above.

Here then are my ATCs for the bird theme.  Top left used a die cut bird cage and two stamped birds, all Crafty Individuals.  For the background I sprayed Cosmic Shimmer Vintage Mist in Astral Mystery.

Top right was stamped using Distress Ink in Brushed Corduroy onto an inked background using DI Vintage Photo.  I then masked out the image and stamped round this with DI Black Soot and an Inkylicious twigs stamp.

For the bottom ATC I used a free feather stamp from Craft Stamper Magazine and DI Black Soot on a background sprayed with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Sugar Maple.  The text is from two different stamps in the Tim Holtz Stampers' Anonymous 'Stuff to Say' set.

Time for Me

I'm sharing an art journal page today which celebrates creative 'me time'.  We all need to take a little time in the day for ourselves and even 10 minutes allows me to stamp an image, prepare a background with stencils and texture paste or add more detail to a pencil drawing.  The problem is I like to do get all my other work and house related jobs done first and guess what -  I end up with no time left.  Sound familiar?

I stamped the page with a Crafty Individuals' clock plate stamp using Distress Ink in Black Soot before adding the dictionary pages with Mod Podge.  Next I highlighted some key words on those  pages with doodles then gave them a coat of gesso to tone them down.  When dry I dripped  some Cosmic Shimmer Vintage Mist in Astral Mystery down the page.

Finally I used Imaginations Sparkle Medium in Gunmetal to stencil 'Time', adding words cut from a magazine to complete the text.  The Doo Lally Pip image was stamped using Black Soot.

Laces, Buttons, Bits and Bobs

That's the challenge theme the lovely Gio has chosen for this month at CRAFTY INDIVIDUALS

I decided to downsize and make an ATC (Artist Trading Card).  If you're not familiar with these they are a standard 3 1/2" x 2 1/2" in size and fun to make.   All the stamps are from Crafty Individuals and the inks are Ranger Distress Inks.  The tiny buttons are mother-of-pearl so there is a natural variation in colour.

After cutting the main card to size I used a scalloped oval, cut using the Cricut Basic Shapes Cartridge, which I had left over from another project at Christmas.  Then I spritzed the main card with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Sugar Maple before using CI-116 crackle background stamp and DI Vintage Photo.  I've had the off-cut of lace for a while and luckily it was the perfect colour to complement the card.

I inked the edges of the oval with DI Vintage Photo and used CI-350 lace stamp and DI Tattered Rose to create a delicate pattern onto which I stuck the cut out head from CI A4 Glossy Image Sheet, Love Letters 1.

New Year - Slow Start

A very belated Happy New Year to you all.

The middle of January already and I suddenly realised I haven't done any crafting since before Christmas!!   I have been doing some upcycling around the house though and a couple of nesting tables and a ceramic lamp are now much improved.

So time to get back to the crafting and to start with, this scrapbook layout of some zany pictures taken at Christmas with the help of a brilliant Festive Photobooth in a box.

It had loads of props and a very large thick card frame which we stuck across the doorway. We used a tripod and the camera on timer so we could all get in the pictures and what a laugh we had, especially when we realised that some of the props really suited us.  Like my black moustache!!  Our Christmas family photos will never be the same again.
